WEEKEND ESSENTIALS: to the flea market

i don't get to as many flea markets as i would like, but when i do make it across town i dress comfortable for a long afternoon of wandering & loading up treasure. these leggings are a favorite of mine because they're a more structured & put-together version of their basic sister without sacrificing that unparalleled comfort. surprise feature: if you're taller like me, they hit just above your ankle which gives the pant a very jo stockton appeal. (plus, they're a steal. buy three.)

DRESSED: new wooden sandals

they're the perfect height for replacing flip-flops.
they're so comfy it's nuts.
i can't stop wearing them.

DRESSED: popping color

remember these essentials? peppering bits of color into neutrals over the weekend was my cuppa tea. the weather was hot & gorgeous for the festival, & we brought ourselves home some rustic artisan pottery. husband said i'd have my own booth there next year.

i laughed.

DRESSED: the only pant you'll ever need

i've been wanting another versatile staple & have always had my eye on j.crew's minnie pant. it's a cropped length & the stretch hugs all the right places. they'll be worn into the ground, so they're worth the investment. i own these & love pairing them with solid tees, chunky heeled sandals, & a pop of coral on the lips.

DRESSED: ikat & madewell denim diy

being someone who dresses in muted hues, i love popping my feet with color. a killer ikat print looks lovely with dark denim & i've stuffed a complementing pocket square into my shirt to break up the solid top (which i love).
want a pocket square too? have a looksee below! above i stitched madewell's faux pocket square from the same jean using pinking shears. for the front pieces, i used the opposite side of the jean for contrast & stitched them together with black thread. now go! make yours!!

introducing DRESSED

introducing a new series i'm nuts for, DRESSED. i plan on posting a new outfit every week sharing simplicity in dressing for life.

most of what i own is very simplistic & understated gamine. i've got a thing for masculine-feminine looks & shop for classic pieces with straight lines.

my favorite thing about this outfit is my jegging! you'll see them over and over. they're my daily staple -- i wear them constantly which means they're never washed. don't judge, you do it too.

stay tuned for the next DRESSED!

ready to wear: coral & grey

coral & grey
how much i love basking in warm weather, i really love my jeans. you know, that one pair that fits you like a glove and you haven't washed in 100 something weeks. but i'll be ok saying sayonara for the season when walking out in a floaty number & chunky heels.
